Marriage in Islam: A Foundation of Deen

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When a person marries, they have fulfilled half of their religion." Marriage in Islam is not a transaction of dowry and display, but a sacred bond built on taqwa and good character.

At Door of Kindness, we encourage families to look first at Deen and akhlaq. When the Prophet ﷺ was asked about choosing a spouse, he advised choosing the one of Deen — for therein lies lasting barakah.
